A short film  ·  A feature in the making

A Champion's Heart

Some fights aren't won in the cage. Some are won on the couch at 3 a.m., when nobody's watching and quitting would be so easy.

Every gift goes to SteelHorn Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

The Story

A fighter who lost more than a fight

Emma trained her whole life to be a champion. Then life hit harder than any opponent ever had.

A Champion's Heart follows a mixed martial artist at the lowest point of her life — off the mat, on the couch, going through the motions in an empty gym. The fight she's losing isn't the one on the card. It's the one to get back up at all.

When a friend refuses to let her disappear, Emma has to decide what a champion's heart is really made of: the will to win, or the faith to keep going when winning stopped being the point.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

The Feature

The short is the first round. Help us go the distance.

What you just watched is a proof of concept. Emma's full story — the fall, the friend, the fight back, and what's waiting on the other side of it — is written as a feature-length film. It needs a budget to be made.

Why a nonprofit film

A Champion's Heart is produced through SteelHorn Foundation so that the film serves a mission, not a return. Your gift is a charitable contribution, and the story gets told without anyone having to sand the faith out of it.

Where the money goes

Cast and crew, locations, fight choreography and safety, post-production, and getting the finished film in front of audiences — including festival screenings and community and church events.

Who it puts to work

SteelHorn Foundation productions train and hire emerging filmmakers and veterans on set. Funding the feature funds real jobs and real experience for people building a career in film.
